Canadian groundhogs didn't see their shadow on Feb. 2, predicting an early spring this year. After the winter much of this country has endured — and it's not over yet — the news is music to many people's ears. For a chilly housing market, an early spring could come with renewed energy and optimism. The (non)start to 2026 saw home sales slide month-over-month, in large part due to a historic winter storm in southwestern Ontario. This resulted in a downshift in demand, or so the Canadian Real Estate Association believes. |
