Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) continues to make headlines. In its most recent announcement, the embattled retailer has inked a deal with a British Columbia-based billionaire and prominent Canadian shopping centre owner to sell more than two dozen store leases. At present, it's unknown how much real estate mogul Weihong (Ruby) Liu bought the leases for or which of HBC’s 96 locations she owns, including whether the company's Toronto flagship location is included. Regardless, Canada's oldest company is entering a new phase. |
